The Alternative Fuels and Advanced Vehicles Data Center (AFDC) provides a wide range of information and resources to enable the use of alternative fuels, in addition to other petroleum reduction options such as advanced vehicles, fuel blends, idle reduction, and fuel economy.

Oak Ridge National Laboratory has released Edition 29 of the Transportation Energy Data Book (TEDB), a compendium of data on transportation with an emphasis on energy. The TEDB, first published in 1976, is designed for use as a desktop reference and is available as an electronic document. Hard copies may be requested from Stacy Davis at davissc@ornl.gov.

The newly revised Handbook for Handling, Storing, and Dispensing E85, published by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory for the U.S. Department of Energy, includes the current Underwriters Laboratories (UL) certified equipment list for E85 fuel dispensing. Check Appendix F for the complete list.

Argonne National Laboratory has released two new transportation related reports. "Well-to-Wheels Analysis of Landfill Gas-Based Pathways and Their Addition to the GREET Model" discusses the size and scope of biomethane resources from landfills and the pathways by which those resources can be utilized as vehicle fuel. The report titled "Propane Vehicles: Status, Challenges, and Opportunities" presents an overview of propane fuel as a viable fuel alternative for use in U.S. vehicles.
